Our Hangi celebration is a community event for all ages; as well as delicious food, it will include games & activities for all to enjoy.
Hāngi is a traditional New Zealand Māori method of cooking food using heated rocks buried in a pit oven. We are delighted to welcome the crew from “Poetic Justice” cafe in Gawler to assist us to create our own Hangi celebration.
Soak in the warmth of the fire, warm your heart, soul & bellies with traditional Maori inspired cooking. Menu includes: Pork, lamb & chicken, potato, sweet potato, pumpkin & cabbage. Plus a surprise dessert.
Meat will be layered & cooked separately for non-meat eaters.
This is an Alcohol free event. Water, cordial, tea, coffee & milo will be provided.
BYO snacks to share, your own chair, warm comfy clothes & sturdy covered shoes.
